Balance/Oscillator

Balance together with balancespring, which is supplied with energy through the gear train, produce the oscillations regulating the movements of the gear train of the mechanical watch.

The balance is a component part of the controlling device (assortment) which consists of the escapement which itself consists of the escape wheel and the pallet fork (mobile d’échappement, ancre). The escapement makes possible the uniform distribution of the energy coming from the barrel (barillet) to the balance. Balance and balancespring together produce the oscillations regulating the gear train of the mechanical watch.

Spiral

Le spiral assemblé sur le balancier crée un couple de rappel lorsque celui-ci reçoit l’énergie fournie par le rouage. Sa fonction est de réguler le déroulement du train du rouage du mouvement mécanique.

Date indicator driver wheel

The date indicator driver wheel (mobile entraineur de l’indicateur de quantième) is the key element of the mechanical clockwork's calendar function and of the calendar quick adjustment.

Double corrector

The double corrector is part of the calendar mechanism. It makes the date disk jump in one direction and the day disk in the other direction. This is done by way of rapid correction during the hand setting.

Maintaining plate

This maintaining plate is part of the calendar mechanism. It has two functions: on the one hand, it retains the date jumper in its position which in turn positions the calendar disk. On the other hand, the mounted setting wheel connects the hour wheel with the date indicator driver wheel.

Fourth wheel

The fourth wheel (mobile de seconde) is a component part of the gear train which ensures energy transmission in the mechanical clockwork between barrel (barillet) and balance. The gear train ensuring energy transmission between barrel and balance consists of the third wheel (mobile de moyenne), the intermediate or center wheel (mobile intermédiaire / mobile de grande moyenne), the fourth wheel (mobile de seconde) and the escape wheel (mobile d’échappement).

Cannon pinion with driver wheel

The cannon pinion with driver wheel (mobile de chaussée) is a component part of the time indication mechanism of the mechanical clockwork. This mechanism permits the exact indication of the time. The drive is effected by the pinion (pignon de moyenne) of the third wheel (mobile de moyenne) and consists of the following elements: Cannon pinion with driver wheel (mobile de chaussée), minute wheel (mobile de minute) and hour wheel (roue des heures).

Driver wheel for the ratchet wheel

The driver wheel for the ratchet wheel (mobile de rochet) is a component part of the automatic winding mechanism of a mechanical watch. The reduction wheel is driven by the arm movement of the watch wearer though the oscillating weight and by the reversing wheel. Thus, the reduction wheel transmits the force onto the ratchet wheel mounted on the barrel arbor and winds up the mainspring. This ensures the winding up of the watch.

Thus, the reduction wheel transmits the force onto the ratchet wheel mounted on the barrel arbor and winds up the mainspring. This ensures the winding up of the watch.

Mobile de chronographe

The center wheel "Chrono" is a component part of the clockwork of the chronograph (with stopwatch) and carries the main hand. The center wheel "Chrono" drives the minute counter. The clockwork of the chronograph (with stopwatch) measures the duration of time events. This process is commonly known as "horology" or "time- keeping". The chronograph's clockwork starts its movement as soon as the start button is pressed. It stops upon pressing the stop button and is reset to its original position when zeroizing.
